A beading mat is something that all beaders should have at least one of. Some prefer to have many if they have a lot of ideas and projects on the go. Prices range from $1.50 to $80
$1.50 - Basic beading mat
$9.50-$15.00 - Tacky beading mat - great for working with small beads you don't want to spill or for taking on vacation.
This beading mat comes in a hard plastic case for ease of travel. When you are finished working on your project, simply untwist the cap on the end and funnel the extra beads back into their containers. $12.00
When working with many colours of seed beads for a project, the last thing you want is for all the beads to mix together. The next two solutions will help to keep the beads from mixing together.

$19.95 - This handy light weight but durable plastic sorting tray has spots for 24 colours (two in a package) to keep all the beads neatly in place while you work. Simply place the sorter on your bead mat, pour your beads into the openings and bead away. When you are finished the project, gently lift the sorter off the mat and scoop your beads back into their tubes.
$30-50 - A design board that you can take with you. Each side is covered in bead mat material for a cushioned surface. Simply close the lid and your project will stay intact. If you are working with small seed beads, we suggest an additional bead mat cut to fit inside to prevent the beads from rolling around. Available in three sizes.
